Setting for Single Location / Single Group / No Nomadic Users - Recommended 911

VERY IMPORTANT:  SEND NOTIFICATION TO provisioning@bluip.com IF ANY CHANGES ARE MADE TO A 911 SETUP IN BROADSOFT

This configuration should be used when the customer has one location and none of the users work remotely or will be taking their phone to another location like their home office. In this case we recommend t that you use the option to send the group calling line ID as the calling identity.

BluIP will provision this phone number with our 911 provider. Note that none of other phone numbers in this group will be provisioned to our 911 provider so if the calling line ID is changed you must notify BluIP so that we can provision the new number for 911 services with our provider. By provisioning only the calling line ID your costs remain lower since we will only charge you for one emergency services number. Of course you still have the option of having BluIP provision every phone number for 911 services but you will be charged an additional fee for each number provisioned.

1) Log in to Broadsoft and go to the group level profile page. Select the main Calling Line ID Group Number from the drop down list.

The number you choose here should be the main number for the customer and the number you set here is the number that you will provide BluIP.

BluIP will set up the 911 service with our emergency services provider..

1) Log in to Broadsoft and go to the group level profile page. Select the main Calling Line ID Group Number from the drop down list.

2) Now go to the Call Processing Policies at the group level in Broadsoft and configure both the non emergency and emergency calls per the screen shot below.

You have the option for non emergency calls to use any of the three options above, but for emergency calls you need to select the "Use Group Number for Calling Line Identity" option.

2) Now go to the Call Processing Policies at the group level in Broadsoft and configure both the non emergency and emergency calls per the screen shot below.

This configuration should be used when the customer has a single group in Broadsoft but users are located at different locations.

  1. Log in to Broadsoft and go to the user level profile page. Select the "Call Processing Policies" at the user level.
  2. In this case you have two options for the Emergency Calls.

A) Use user phone number for Calling Line Identity.

In this case you will need to provide BluIP with a complete list of all users in the enterprise along with their address information so that we can provision each number with our 911 service provider. You will be charged fro multiple E911 surcharges based on the quantity of numbers that are provisioned.

A) Use user phone number for Calling Line Identity.

B) Use configurable CLID for Calling Line Identity

If you choose this option you will need to set up a number on the user profile which will be used fro 911 calling. You would only use this option if you have multiple users within the same group at the same location. It is highly recommended that if you choose this setting that you contact BluIP support for assistance. In addition you will need to provide BluIP a list of all telephone numbers and locations so that we can provision the numbers with our E911 service provider.

B) Use configurable CLID for Calling Line Identity

C) The screen shot below shows how the user profile needs to be configured when the option to use configurable CLID for Calling Line Identity is selected.

You will enter the number that you want used fro 911 service manually in this Calling Line ID Phone Number field. Note that this number must be a number that resides on the BluIP network.
