Hybrid Key System Admin Guide

To configure the HKS (Hybrid Key System) Obihai Programmable Keys with supported Functionalities (Call Appearance, Busy Lamp Field, DND, Speed Dial, Message Status):

  • Note: Obihai 1062 comes with six (6) programmable keys.
  • Note: Obihai 1032 comes with three (3) programmable keys

By default, the first 3 lines are already pre-configured as Call Appearance with a maximum of 1 allowed call per Line.

The term "LINEKEYS" refers to the keys on the screen, labeled as number 1 through 6 (per the image below). We have 6 LINE KEYS we can program as Call Appearance, Busy Lamp Field, DND, Speed Dial, Message Status

  • Call Appearance - Known as Call Key. Used to make or receive a call
  • Busy Lamp Field - Monitor call state of another extension
  • DND (Do Not Disturb) - Block incoming calls only, and re-route calls defined under "No Answer" settings in broadsoft.
  • Speed Dial - quick way to easily dial most frequently called ext. or phone number
  • Message Status - Displays the number of messages in a voicemail account.

Each LINEKEY is programmed individually. To configure a LINEKEY for a certain functionality a combination of TAGS must be set:

For Example, if a user would like to configure the second key or "LINEKEY2" as a "DO NOT DISTURB" function key, the following tags must be added:

"NOTE: LINEKEY1 is hard coded as a call appearance and is NOT programmable."

Tag Name: LINEKEY2

Value: Do Not Disturb

  1. Tag  name LINEKEY2 is associated to the second key on the phone next to the screen.
  2. Value, Do Not Disturb, refers to the chosen feature key function.

From here on, "LINEKEY2" (second key) is used as an example to program it for specific Feature Key.

Here's a complete list of the LINEKEY tags:

  • Tag name: LINEKEY2
  • Tag name: LINEKEY3
  • Tag name: LINEKEY4
  • Tag name: LINEKEY5
  • Tag name: LINEKEY6

Complete list of Values for the above Tags: PLEASE NOTE THAT VALUES ARE CASE SENSITIVE

  • Value: Call Appearance
  • Value: Busy Lamp Field
  • Value: Do Not Disturb
  • Value: Speed Dial
  • Value: Message Status

Feature Key Function: Call Appearance - (Known as Call Key. Used to make or receive a call)

To program a Call Appearance to the device, specify which LINEKEY you want to use and add value "Call Appearance"

Ex:

  • Tag Name:  LINEKEY2
  • Value: Call Appearance

Feature Key Function: Busy Lamp Field (Monitor call state of another extension)

Before adding a BLF Key, please verify that monitored users have been added to the Users Busy Lamp Field in BroadSoft. On a hybrid key system configuration, Monitored users or extensions (Labeled#1) should be placed above the LINE users/ext (1 -8) (Labeled#2). See image below.

In the below example 2 extensions were added to be monitored (1105 and 1104). To set up the tags, the LINEKEY2 and LINEKEY3 will be used for BLF. This also requires the "NUMBER_LINEKEY" tag for each line to populate the Ext, by utilizing BLF URI LIST:

  • Tag Name: LINEKEY2
  • Value: Busy Lamp Field
  • Tag Name: LINEKEY3
  • Value: Busy Lamp Field

******************************************************

  • Tag Name: NUMBER_LINEKEY2
  • Value: 0810200001_1102/?
  • Tag Name: NUMBER_LINEKEY3
  • Value: 0810200001_1102/?

The tag Name: NUMBER_LINEKEY2 and NUMBER_LINEKEY3 are required to pull the monitored extension via BLF.

The value is set to users URI List (labeled#3 on the image).

The "/?" parameter auto pull the monitored ext. beginning at the top inside the "Monitored Users" Box. This is why it's important to have the Monitored extensions above the LINE Users.

Feature Key Function: Do Not Disturb (DND) - (Block incoming calls only, and re-route calls base on the NO ANSWER settings.)

  • Tag Name: LINEKEY2
  • Value: Do Not Disturb

Tag  name LINEKEY2 is associated to the second key on the phone.

Value, Do Not Disturb, refers to the chosen feature key function. Users should have the ability to enable or disable DND Line.

Feature Key Function: Speed Dial - (Quick way to easily dial most frequently called extensions or phone numbers)

Speed Dial Requires the NUMBER_LINEKEY tag as well. Value will be the destination number or the Dialed Digits. The tag NAME_LINEKEY is your Speed Dial Label.

  • Tag Name: LINEKEY2
  • Value: Speed Dial
  • Tag Name: NUMBER_LINEKEY2
  • Value: 7026904455
  • Tag Name: NAME_LINEKEY2
  • Value: BluIP Support

Feature Key Function: Message Status - (Monitor the number of messages in a mail box.)

The NUMBER_LINEKEY tag allows you to use the same key to contact VM server. Without this tag, no action will be taken when linekey is pressed (but it will still monitor/display the number of new voice messages in the voicemail account.)

  • Tag Name: LINEKEY2
  • Value: Message Status
  • Tag Name: NUMBER_LINEKEY2
  • Value: *62

Below is a screenshot of each individual Feature Key Function Programmed to an Obihai Hybrid Key System Device.
